Below is a brief resume of our core people and their role within the company.
Mark Oliver Managing Director
Mark has worked in the landscape industry for more than 20 years. Starting with a three-year gardening apprenticeship before attending Askham Bryan College in York where he obtained a National Diploma in Landscape Construction, Design and Surveying. Mark continued with a career in retail horticulture and tree surgery before joining English Landscapes in 1994 as a Contracts Manager. At English Landscapes, Mark progressed to Area Manager and then to the Board in 1998 as Managing Director.
As Managing Director, Mark heads up operations on a national basis ensuring the delivery of high quality projects, that financial targets are met and that new clients and opportunities are developed.
James Nichols Safety and Quality Executive
James transferred from Blue Diamond Services Ltd, the cleaning services division of the Blue Diamond Services Group, to English Landscapes in October 2006.
His career working in safety and quality management has covered a variety of disciplines and industries - engineering, scientific services, rapid transit rail industry and contract cleaning services.
In his role as English Landscapes' Safety & Quality Executive, James' responsibilities include ensuring that the safety and quality systems are maintained in accordance with current legislation and good business practice and monitoring compliance with the company management systems.
