The Landscape Group, the parent company of wholly owned subsidiaries English Landscapes Limited and English Landscapes Maintenance Limited has announced the completion of a Management Buy-Out from brothers Mark and Harvey Alexander, owners of the Blue Diamond Group. The MBO, which successfully completed on 31st March 2008, has been backed by Elysian Capital LLP, who specialise in investing in mid-market companies in the UK.
The MBO was led by Chief Executive Officer Martin Hunt, Managing Director Mark Oliver and Commercial Director Peter Holland, all existing Directors of the Group.
English Landscapes is the largest independent UK landscaping Group in its sector able to provide a fully integrated service to both its public and private sector clients. Focusing on landscape construction, landscape maintenance and street cleansing services, English Landscapes employs over 600 staff and has a turnover of £40 million per annum. The Company has won almost 50 national awards since its formation in 1990 underpinning its commitment to providing service excellence to its clients.
Recent wins include a seven year high profile open spaces contract valued at £1.2 million with Babergh District Council, together with the re-tender and retention of our London Borough of Bromley and West Wiltshire grounds maintenance contracts, both of which have increased considerably in geographical areas covered and services provided to take them to £3 million and £1.7 million per annum respectively. Construction wins include a £3 million predominantly hard landscaping public realm contract at Spinningfields, Manchester with Bovis Lend Lease and a £2.7 million project to re-landscape Bancroft Gardens for Stratford-upon-Avon District Council.
The UK market continues to grow and English Landscapes has already demonstrated it has the critical mass, horticultural pedigree and operational expertise to deliver.
