BALI is the national body representing
landscape contractors in the UK. BALI is dedicated to continuing the
improvement in quality, workmanship and service of the industry.
The Association was established initially with a view to improving
and maintaining the standing of the Landscape Industry through the
strength of corporate representation. To do this required fostering
a greater awareness among professional bodies, public authorities
and generally by improved promotion of the industry.

Investors In People is the national
standard which sets out a level of good practice for training and
development of people to achieve business goals.
The Standard provides a national framework for improving business
performance and competitiveness, through a planned approach to setting
and communicating business objectives and developing people to meet
these objectives. The result is - what people can and are motivated
to do matches what the organisation needs them to do. Investors in
People is cyclical and should engender the culture of continuous improvement.

| The Institute of Groundmanship

The IOG is the leading membership organisation representing grounds managers, groundsmen, grounds maintenance managers, greenkeepers and all others involved in the management of sports pitches, landscapes and amenity facilities in the UK.
This means that they are the only all-encompassing organisation for all those with a practical or commercial interest in the multi-million pound industry of amenity management and sports, leisure and landscaping.
The institute was founded in 1934 and its original purpose was defined as being to improve the status of groundsmen and the standard of groundsmanship. These objectives remain firm and direct the activities of the Institute to this day.

ILAM is the professional association
for leisure industry managers. ILAM represents every aspect of leisure,
cultural and recreation management and is committed to the improvement
of management standards.
The growing importance of leisure pursuits to the quality of life
demands that financial, human, physical and other resources are managed
in the most effective, productive and beneficial way. ILAM, the major
body involved in the pursuit of these objectives, plays a key role
in the development of leisure management, through education, research,
information, debate and discussion with Government and national agencies.
