BALI National Award Winner 2006 - Domestic Garden Scheme
English Landscapes completed the hard and soft landscape construction at this Grade II prestigious residential farmhouse in West Sussex. The concept of the design was to transform the existing sloped garden and create a more usuable garden with the use of terraces.
The works undertaken included:
Deconstruction of the existing garden - mature tree felling, soil clearance and the re-grading and re-levelling of the existing soils Building a 130 metre flint-faced retaining wall using concrete retaining units Revising of the levels of the property to form the terraces and to regrade and contour the existing ground Constructing and flint-facing raised planters, planted out with six metre high Hornbeams Laying of 1500 square metres of reclaimed cobbles Laying self-binding gravel footpaths using natural gravel Designing and installing a bespoke irrigation system
A one-year maintenance period followed practical completion
