BALI National Landscape Award Winner 2004 - Special Schools Award

English Landscapes completed the landscape enhancement works at this school, which has been rescued from 'Special Measures' for failing its ofSTEAD inspection. As part of the refurbishment to get the school back on track, the external spaces were prioritised to create an exciting, colourful, but well-ordered environment for the children.

The works undertaken included:

Construction of a formal steel structure underset with paving and pre-cast concrete seating units topped with formal timber latts
Resurfacing of the existing playground using tarmac overlaid with interpave blue and yellow resin
Creation of a sacred garden using retaining walls, formal copings with conservation kerbs and paving
Construction of an amphitheatre using pre-cast concrete kerbs and steel canopies
Earth remodelling works
Installation of a small water feature
Erection of a large 'Climbing Wall'
Installation of seating
Planting of trees and shrubs
Turfing
